Job summary

GE Vernova in Greenville, SC seeks an experienced engineer to develop technical proposal content for combined-cycle power plant configurations, coordinating with Commercial Operations, Product Engineering and Product Management to craft competitive, compliant proposals that meet customer needs while aligning with GE Vernova standards.

The role focuses on gas turbine technology, evaluating customer requirements, and delivering timely, costed configurations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college; OR a high school diploma/GED with 9+ years of experience in Gas Turbine engineering.
  • 5 years of engineering/Technology, Customer Bid & Proposal expertise and related Gas Turbine and/or Gas Power equipment.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the technical content of proposals for GEV Combined Cycle power plant configuration, coordinating with Commercial Operations, Product Engineering and Product Management to win profitable projects for GEV Gas Power.
  • Coordinate timely evaluation of customer requirements via RFPs to ensure proper selection of GEV Gas Turbine scope of supply items.
  • Evaluate and develop comments and exceptions to the RFP to show how GE equipment is compliant or where it does not fully meet customer specifications.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Gas Turbine technology and apply it to policy/strategy.
  • Identify customer required special requirements and work with engineering/sourcing to provide competitive, timely solutions.
  • Develop expertise in requirements management and costing processes and communicate the strategy for configuration and costing in proposals.
  • Attend internal project meetings to establish strategies for winning and customer meetings to clarify technical aspects during negotiations.
  • Interpret customer requirements to determine proper application of GE equipment to ensure competitive position and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure on-time completion of all proposal activities and business initiatives for Quality, Cost, Reliability, and Performance.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for the technicalcontentofproposals for GEVCombinedCycle power plantconfiguration, working with theCommercialOperations,ProductEngineering and Product Management teams to win profitable projects for GEV Gas Power
  • Be responsible for coordinating the timely evaluation of customer requirements, typically via review of the customer or Equipment Prime Contractor (EPC), provided request for proposal (RFP) to ensure proper selection of GEV Gas Turbine scope of supply items.
  • Be responsible for evaluating and developing comments and exceptions to the Request for Proposal (RFP) identifying how GEV equipment is compliant or where GEV equipment does not fully meet the customer specification
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a Gas Turbine technology. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • Identify customer requested special requirements and develop strategies with engineering/sourcing teams that provide competitive solutions to these requirements with 100% timeliness to business need.
  • Develop expertise in requirements management and costing processes, documenting customer specific product configurations and assisting in developing costing to be used in the proposal process. Must be able to clearly communicate the strategy that led to both the configuration and costing details contained within the proposal.
  • Attend internal project meetings to establish strategies for winning, and customer meetings to clarify technical aspects during negotiations with the customer
  • Interpret customer requirements to determine proper application of General Electric equipment to ensure GE’s competitive position and ultimate customer satisfaction
  • Ensure the on‑time completion of all assigned and proposal activities including business initiatives for Quality, Cost, Reliability, Performances, etc.
  • Recognize and communicate issues with project schedules or requirements sufficiently early so actions can be taken to resolve those items.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
