Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Custom Protection Security Officer for a facility located in Hopewell, NJ. The starting salary is $33.48 per hour, with FLEX shifts available. The role requires a New Jersey RPO carry permit and prior sworn law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring entrances, reporting incidents, and assisting people on site. Preferred candidates may have a related degree or military/academy background and multilingual abilities.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Military or law enforcement related service or academy graduate is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies is a plus.
• A minimum of 8+ years of military service or equivalent is valued.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns.
• Sound alarms or report emergencies to police or fire departments.
• Warn violators and control access to the property.
• Observe and protect company property against theft.
• Investigate incidents and prepare written reports.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors courteously and professionally.
• Make emergency notifications as needed and follow site orders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders
• Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management
• Make recommendations for physical security surveys and post orders

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must possess one or more of the following
• Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
• Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
• Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
• A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch
• Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
• Be at least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.*A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only
• Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
