Job summary

Central Body Company in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Custom Painter to join our RV Collision Expert team. You will prepare surfaces, mix paints, and apply custom finishes for both repairs and personalized looks.

Expect to work with candy coats, pearls, metallics and multi‑stage finishes, while upholding CBC quality standards. A strong work ethic, organization, and teamwork are essential, with emphasis on safety and professional presentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as Paint Technician/Automotive Painter preferred.
• Ability to pass a felony/misdemeanor background check.

Responsibilities

• Paint repair preparation and planning for daily workload.
• Apply custom paint work including color matching and specialty finishes.

YOUR ROLE

• Paint Repair Preparation: Attend and participate in the morning meetings. Repair planning for all vehicles by prioritizing daily workload. Mirror match parts to ensure everything is in place for a proper repair. Preparing all panels and surfaces before execution of painting work. Must be able to mix and match paint colors throughout repair planning.
• Custom Finishes: Apply custom paint work including color matching for specialty finishes, custom graphics, and one-off color requests for RV owners looking for a personalized look.
• Specialty Techniques: Execute custom techniques such as candy coats, pearls, metallics, and multi-stage finishes, ensuring seamless blends and factory-quality results on both repair and custom projects.
• Paint Quality Assurance: Perform quality repairs while adhering to all safety practices. Maintain high-quality standards throughout painting and verify all paint work is up to CBC standards before reassembly. Strive to reduce defects by thoroughly double-checking all repair work.
• Workplace Maintenance & Professionalism: Keep tools and equipment in good working order to ensure proper performance. Organize and maintain a professional workspace. Dress professionally and maintain good hygiene. Assist other staff as necessary. Other duties as assigned.

YOUR SKILLS

• Knowledge: High school diploma or equivalent. Consistent work history. Prior experience as a Paint Technician, Automotive Painter, Body and Paint Restoration Technician, or similar role preferred.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills. Strong work ethic; diplomatic; team and service oriented; build strong working relationships. Exemplary planning and time management skills. Exhibits superior verbal communication and phone skills. Ability to prioritize daily workload. Sound judgment and problem-solving ability. Demonstrate ability to be flexible and adapt to an ever-changing work environment. People first personality.
