Software Placement Group seeks an experienced Custom Metal Fabricator & TIG Welder for a 2nd shift on-site role in West Bend, WI. The position runs Mon-Thu, 3:30 PM–2:00 AM on a 4x10 schedule at a modern ISO 9001:2015 facility.

You will weld TIG/MIG on medical, printing, and packaging components; interpret prints and weld symbols; and operate cranes/forklifts as needed. Up to $28/hr plus profit sharing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years TIG and MIG welding in a job shop or custom metal fabrication environment.
• 5+ years reading complex blueprints and interpreting structural weld symbols.
• US work authorization (US Citizen or Green Card) within driving radius of West Bend, WI/Jackson, WI.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG and MIG welds on custom fabrications, structural components, and prototypes.
• Interpret detailed manufacturing prints and weld symbols to ensure proper fit-up.
• Set up welding machines, adjust gas mixtures, amperage and heat per ISO 9001:2015 standards.
• Measure, position, align, and fit complex sheet metal and structural components before final welding.
• Safely operate overhead bridge cranes and forklifts to position weldments.
• Collaborate with fabricators and shop leads to resolve design challenges and optimize runs.

Location: West Bend, WI / Jackson, WI | Schedule: Full-time, on-site, 2nd Shift, 4x10 (Mon-Thu, 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM) | Compensation: Up to $28.00/hr based upon experience + profit sharing

Overview

An established, debt-free custom metal fabrication company with ISO 9001:2015 certification is seeking an experienced Custom Metal Fabricator & TIG Welder for its modern 30,000 sq. ft. facility near West Bend, WI. The company supplies OEM partners in the medical, packaging, and printing sectors and is known for strong stability, with an average employee tenure of 7+ years. This 2nd Shift role offers a structured 4-day work week and a chance to join a low-bureaucracy, team-oriented shop.

What you'll do

• Execute high-quality TIG and MIG welds on custom fabrications, structural components, and prototypes for medical, printing, and packaging applications
• Interpret detailed manufacturing prints, engineering drawings, and structural weld symbols to ensure accurate part fit-up
• Set up and adjust welding machines, gas mixtures, amperage, and heat parameters to meet ISO 9001:2015 quality standards
• Measure, position, align, and fit complex sheet metal and structural components prior to final welding
• Safely operate overhead bridge cranes and forklifts to position, flip, and transport large weldments
• Collaborate with experienced fabricators and shop floor leads to resolve design challenges and optimize custom job runs

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on TIG and MIG welding experience in a job shop or custom metal fabrication environment
• 5+ years of experience reading complex blueprints and interpreting structural weld symbols
• Strong, stable work history with consistent punctuality and accountability
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and prior experience operating overhead bridge cranes and forklifts
• Track record of career longevity and multi-year tenures with previous employers
• US work authorization (US Citizen or Green Card holder) required, residing within a daily driving radius of West Bend, WI / Jackson, WI

Preferred qualifications

• Experience TIG welding stainless steel, aluminum, or thin-gauge sheet metal for sanitary or medical applications
• Active or past AWS (American Welding Society) structural or pipe welding certifications
• Advanced manual shop math and layout skills for ground-up prototype builds
