Job summary

Tourmaline Builders in Solana Beach, CA seeks an experienced Superintendent to manage one to two luxury custom home projects on site daily and serve as the client's primary contact.

You will own the project schedule, cost control, coordinate subs, and work with the Project Coordinator on budgets and weekly client reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as lead superintendent or PM on ground-up custom homes, incl. two projects >$3M
• Ability to start with minimal ramp-up and run complex projects without daily supervision
• Fluent reading architectural and structural drawings
• Proficient with construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar) and Excel
• Polished, professional communicator in person and in writing; comfortable being the client's main contact

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day construction on one to two custom homes, from foundation through final walkthrough
• Serve as the client's primary point of contact and the face of Tourmaline on the project
• Own the project schedule and field-side cost control: cost-to-complete, change orders, sub buyout
• Solicit bids, award subcontracts, and manage subs alongside our in-house field crew
• Coordinate inspections, architects, engineers, and designers; hold quality and safety standards on site
• Work with your Project Coordinator on budgets, selections, and weekly client reporting

We're hiring an experienced Superintendent to run one or two custom home projects at a time. At Tourmaline this role blends field superintendent and project manager duties. You'll be on site daily, and you'll also be the client's primary contact and the person who buys out and manages the subcontractors.

Compensation

$115,000–$145,000 depending on experience, plus 401(k) with generous company match and healthcare.
