Job summary

Eleven Fifty Seven in Ohio is seeking a skilled Custom Fabricator/Woodworker to bring branded environments to life. You’ll build displays, cabinetry, signage and architectural features from drawings, using woodworking, CNC, finishing, and hand-tools.

You’ll work with hardwoods, plywood, MDF, laminates, plastics and metals, read shop drawings, assist with CNC setup, and help install finished pieces. We value problem-solving, pride in workmanship, and a collaborative team approach.

Responsibilities

• Build custom displays, exhibits, signage, cabinetry and architectural features from drawings and specs.
• Work with hardwood, plywood, MDF, laminates, plastics, metals and specialty materials.
• Cut, assemble, fasten and finish custom components.
• Operate woodworking and fabrication equipment safely and accurately.
• Prepare, sand, paint, stain, laminate or finish fabricated pieces.
• Read shop drawings and production documentation.
• Assist with CNC setup and operation when possible.
• Identify practical solutions for design or fabrication challenges.
• Coordinate with designers, project leaders and production teams.
• Inspect completed work for quality and appearance.
• Package, load and prepare completed work for installation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe working environment.
• Occasionally assist with on-site installation.

Eleven Fifty Seven is looking for a skilled, hands‑on Custom Fabricator / Woodworker to help bring one-of-a-kind branded environments, displays, signage and architectural features to life.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building things, solving problems and working on projects that rarely look exactly the same. You may be constructing custom cabinetry one day, fabricating display components the next and helping prepare a finished installation shortly afterward.

We are interested in candidates with experience in woodworking, custom fabrication, cabinetry, CNC operation, finishing or a related trade. You do not need to be an expert in every area. We are looking for a capable craftsperson who takes pride in their work, understands how things go together and is willing to continue learning.

• Build custom displays, exhibits, signage, cabinetry and architectural features from drawings and specifications
• Work with materials such as hardwood, plywood, MDF, laminates, plastics, metals and other specialty materials
• Cut, assemble, fasten and finish custom components
• Operate woodworking and fabrication equipment safely and accurately
• Prepare, sand, paint, stain, laminate or otherwise finish fabricated pieces
• Read and interpret shop drawings, dimensions and production documentation
• Assist with CNC setup and operation when experience allows
• Identify practical solutions when a design or fabrication challenge arises
• Coordinate with designers, project leaders and other production team members
• Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy and overall appearance
• Help package, load and prepare completed work for installation
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment
• Occasionally assist with on-site installation as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in woodworking, cabinetry, millwork, custom fabrication, exhibit production, sign production, CNC machining, finishing or a similar hands-on trade
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools
• Ability to read measurements and work accurately from drawings
• Understanding of fabrication methods, materials and assembly techniques
• Good attention to detail and a high standard for finished workmanship
• Ability to think through problems and work independently when appropriate
• Willingness to learn unfamiliar materials, equipment and processes
• Dependability and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to safely lift and maneuver materials and fabricated components

Experience in any of the following areas is a plus, but not required:

• CNC router programming, setup or operation
• Cabinetmaking or architectural millwork
• Spray finishing, painting or staining
