Job summary

Avtec Finishing, located in New Hope, Minnesota, seeks a Rack & Tool Maker to design, fabricate, modify, repair, and maintain custom racks, fixtures, jigs, and tooling for our manufacturing operation. You will also support maintenance to improve uptime and production efficiency.

The role blends fabrication, tool making, and industrial maintenance, impacting product quality for medical, aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors. AWS certification and blueprints literacy are required.

Qualifications

• Must have AWS certification and be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years fabrication, welding, tool making, rack fabrication, or related experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate custom racks, fixtures, jigs, tooling, and production support equipment.
• Perform welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, and metal fabrication.
• Repair and modify tooling to support new production requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, sketches, and technical drawings.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality to improve tooling and efficiency.
• Inspect fabrication for quality, durability, and fit; maintain a clean, safe area.
