Job summary

Confidential Employer in Louisville, KY is seeking a seasoned Creative Director to lead custom wallcoverings and large-format murals for commercial and luxury residential spaces.

You will mentor a design team, translate client concepts into production-ready artwork, supervise digital file preparation, and collaborate with interior designers and production partners to ensure on-time, high-quality results.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of design leadership and creative direction experience.
• 2+ years leading a design or creative team.
• Portfolio demonstrating large-format murals or wallcoverings.
• Advanced skills in Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Experience with large-format production workflows.
• Strong client-facing and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creative vision and execution of custom wallcoverings, murals, and large-format digital artwork.
• Translate client concepts, mood boards, and design briefs into production-ready artwork.
• Manage and mentor a team of designers and project managers while establishing creative standards and efficient studio workflows.
• Oversee digital file preparation, image scaling, color accuracy, layouts, repeats, and panel-to-panel design continuity.
• Collaborate with interior designers, distribution partners, and customers to develop concepts, present designs, and manage revisions.
• Partner with manufacturing and production teams to ensure artwork translates from digital concept to finished installation.
• Manage multiple creative projects, maintain quality standards, and deliver exceptional results on schedule.
• Explore emerging design technologies, printing techniques, and materials to elevate capabilities.

Note

Candidates must have 5+ years of relevant design experience, including 2+ years of creative or design team management experience. Hands-on experience with large-format artwork, custom murals, wallcoverings, or related surface design is essential, along with strong Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator skills. A portfolio demonstrating relevant large-scale custom design work is required for interview consideration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in surface design, digital art direction, large-format graphic design, or a closely related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience managing or leading a creative or design team.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating custom murals, large-format artwork, wallcoverings, or related surface design projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Experience with large-format artwork preparation, scaling, repeats, layouts, and production-ready digital files.
• Working knowledge of wide-format digital printing, color management, and proofing processes.
• Strong creative leadership, project management, communication, and client-facing skills.
• Experience with gravure printing, print RIP software, or commercial wallcovering manufacturing is a plus.
