Job summary

Frank Darling, a female-founded fine jewelry brand, is seeking a Custom CAD Coordinator for an on-site role in New York. The ideal candidate will guide CAD teams, translate custom sketches into workable CAD requirements, and help ensure models are accurate and feasible.

You will work closely with the sales team, review CAD designs, and provide feedback to keep projects on schedule. Rhino experience is required to read and analyze models before producing client renders or casting; prior jewelry

Qualifications

• Experience with custom designs, minimum 6 months in CAD modelling, developing or assessing designs.
• Prior experience in fine jewelry production.
• Excellent written communication skills and sketching ability.
• Ability to view 3D model files and inspect them for accuracy.
• Familiarity with fine jewelry terminology and design.
• Ability to anticipate manufacturing issues based on 3D models.
• Ability to interpret sketches and accurately translate into 3D.
• Experience with Matrix / Rhino 3DM CAD software is a plus.
• Familiarity with fine jewelry construction and tolerances.
• Bench jewelry making experience is a plus.

Frank Darling is a female-founded fine jewelry brand making custom engagement rings feel exciting, personal, and refreshingly human. Our modern, sustainability-minded designs have been featured in Vogue, WSJ, Bloomberg, Glossy, and more.

We have an immediate, on-site opening for a Custom CAD Coordinator. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented CAD jewelry professional with strong interpersonal skills that thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

This role does not require creating CAD models, but instead guiding CAD teams into creating models perfectly and quickly through great communication and clear feedback. While you won’t be creating CAD models, experience with Rhino is required to open, read and analyze models before they go to clients in renders or into casting.

This position is specified in custom designs: being able to assess a custom sketch and to translate it into a workable custom CAD model, while being able to analyze it for structural feasibility. If you want to look at different models every day and if you like the idea of viewing every ring as a puzzle, this is the role for you!

The ideal candidate is a CAD designer… who wants to aim higher and be in charge of multiple CAD Designer and CAD design teams!

• $60k-80k based on experience
