Job summary

Kootenai County Sheriff's Office seeks a Custody Technician to support inmate booking and release, maintain records, and handle jail clerical tasks. The role involves operating control systems and direct inmate contact while ensuring accuracy and safety.

Starting pay is $22.96/hour (DOE) with a $0.50 shift differential, plus comprehensive benefits and PSLF eligibility. Training provided; NCIC certification obtainable within six months.

Position Summary

This position supports Detention Deputies during the inmate booking and release process. Duties include direct contact with inmates, maintaining and updating inmate records, and performing various jail-related clerical tasks. The position also requires operating the jail’s control systems, including doors, gates, video surveillance, and intercom systems, requiring strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting Pay: $22.96 per hour DOE (includes $0.50 shift differential)

Minimum Qualifications
