Job summary

Mesa Public Schools in Mesa, AZ is seeking a full-time custodian to maintain cleanliness and safe conditions in district schools. The position is 2nd shift evenings with an additional 0.35 per hour shift pay; base hourly rate is 17.12.

Employment Type:

Full-time (40 hours per week)

2nd Shift Evening (plus $.35/hr shift pay)

Base Hourly:

$17.12

Class/Calendar:

Performance Pay:

Available annually

New Hire Experience:

1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Custodians work inside classrooms, hallways, restrooms, gymnasiums, cafeterias, and offices, as well as outside maintaining school grounds
• Frequent use of cleaning solutions, disinfectants, and floor treatments requires proper safety precautions
• Exposed to high temperatures when working outside
• Requires long periods of standing and walking, often covering large areas of the school throughout the shift
• Frequently bends to clean floors, pick up trash, and access low areas
• Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and other cleaning activities require repetitive arm and hand movements
• Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds
