Job summary

Performance Academies in Columbus, OH is seeking a dedicated Facility Maintenance professional to keep our campuses clean, safe, and inviting, supporting daily operations and student learning.

You will clean classrooms and common areas, operate custodial equipment, report issues, and work with staff to maintain a well-run school environment.

Reliable, punctual team players with a high school diploma and background checks are encouraged to apply; we offer health benefits, holidays, and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of required state and federal background checks.
• Valid Ohio driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and empty trash throughout the building.
• Perform floor care, including buffing, waxing, and carpet maintenance.
• Complete minor building repairs and report maintenance issues as needed.
• Maintain custodial equipment and ensure adequate cleaning supplies are available.

What You'll Do

Facility Maintenance

• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly school environment.
• Follow established safety procedures and complete required safety training.
• Operate custodial equipment safely and efficiently.
• Support school operations by responding to custodial and facility needs as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

Professional Responsibilities

• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Work independently while managing daily cleaning priorities.
• Maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and visitors.
• Follow oral and written instructions and contribute to a positive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, and other physical activity.
• Ability to work in environments with dust, cleaning chemicals, varying temperatures, noise, and other routine maintenance conditions.
