Job summary

A local school district is seeking a Custodian for daytime shifts, responsible for general cleaning duties across the district's facilities. WAGE: $18 PER HOUR Must be available from approximately June 1, 2026- August 14, 2026.

Perform general custodial duties, including cleaning kitchen, cafeteria, classrooms, halls, windows, bathrooms, etc. and remove garbage and other refuse.

Respond to requests for assistance from principal, teachers, and others and assist with building lockdown and emergency code procedures as directed.

Assists in preparing areas for meetings and daily activities.

Performs minor repairs and routine maintenance to buildings and equipment.

Performs various seasonal jobs including snow removal.

Secures building.

Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds.

Qualifications

High school graduate with any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to operate a variety of custodial equipment including vacuum cleaner, floor scrubber, carpet extractor, mower, etc.
• Ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to comprehend, interpret and/or prepare a variety of documents, time cards, building use permits, maintenance requests, custodial handbook, equipment manuals, MSDS, building maps and specifications, etc.
• Ability to prepare a variety of documents including time cards, material requests, work requests, etc.
• Ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, and follow instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, administrators, service technicians, custodial staff, delivery persons, police officers, School Board members, nurses, the general public, and others verbally and in writing.
