Job summary

Allied Services in Scranton seeks a Custodian to clean and service residents’ rooms, community areas and office spaces in a safe, efficient manner under the supervision of the Janitorial Program Supervisor. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, up to 6 months custodial experience preferred, flexibility in scheduling, and strong written/verbal communication.

Must obtain Act 169 clearance and follow safety and infection control procedures.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Six (6) Months Of Custodial Experience Is Preferred.
• Must be cleared according to Act 169 in areas required.
• Needs to be able to work a flexible schedule work time.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are desired.
• Will become competent in areas designated by program policies.
• Is to adhere to established company and program policies and procedures related to safety and infection control.

Responsibilities

• 18% Dry and wet mops hard floors.
• 15% Vacuums, spot cleans, or shampoos carpets when assigned.
• 15% Uses floor machines, automatic scrubbers, wall-washing equipment, waste collecting equipment, etc.
• 10% Collects and transports refuse; cleans and relines refuse containers with plastic bags
• 10% Cleans sinks, tubs, showers and toilets. Polishes bright work and cleans mirrors. Empties trash, sweeps and mops floors with disinfectant cleaner.
• 10% Dusts, cleans, and polishes furniture including beds, dressers, and lamps.
• 5% Cleans top of windows, door frames and other high places.
• 5% Polishes stainless steel and other bright work. Cleans glass.
• 5% Cleans venetian blinds and drapes.
• 7% Strips or scrubs and refinishes floors when assigned.
