Job summary

Superbag-Operating-Ltd. is seeking a Plant Custodian in Houston, TX to maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the manufacturing facility, including production areas, offices, restrooms, and break rooms.

You will follow safety and quality standards, report incidents promptly, and operate floor-cleaning equipment to keep the plant hygienic and efficient. Experience in plant cleaning is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial, janitorial, or industrial cleaning preferred.
• Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols in a plant environment.
• Familiarity with cleaning machines and hand tools is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation across production areas, offices, restrooms, and break rooms.
• Sweep, mop, and clean production floors; remove debris and dust.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and office areas.
• Empty trash and recycling; restock supplies like towels, soap, and toilet paper.
• Operate and maintain floor-cleaning equipment (sweepers, scrubbers).
• Report facility damage, spills, or safety concerns to supervision.
• Follow safety protocols around machines, plastics, and chemicals.
• Maintain organized work areas and perform duties with urgency and accuracy.
• Assist other departments or locations as needed.

Job description

The Plant Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the manufacturing facility, including production areas, offices, restrooms, break rooms. This role supports plant safety, hygiene, and operational efficiency by ensuring a clean and organized work environment and in compliance with company standards.DESCRIPTIONEnsure all parameters of Safety, Food Safety and Quality are being adhered to and maintained throughout the plant.Immediately report to supervisor any incident and unsafe condition (including minor property damage).Sweep, mop, and clean production floors regularly to remove plastic dust, trimmings, and debris.Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and office areas.Empty and replace trash bags and recycling containers across all departments.Clean entranceways, loading docks, and employee locker rooms areas.Operate and maintain floor-cleaning equipment (e.g., sweepers, scrubbers).Support general cleaning and sanitation related to pest control protocols.Monitor and restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, toilet paper, and cleaning materials.Support cleaning tasks in other departments or company locations as requested.Notify supervisors of any facility damage, spills, or safety concerns.Follow all safety protocols, especially around machines, plastic waste, and chemical use.Follows housekeeping standards.Maintain area organized and clean.Perform all tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy.Follows safety policies and sanitation regulations.Conduct other duties as assigned by management.COMPETENCIESAbility to work independently.Efficient time management skills.Thoroughly cleans and inspects work areas, especially high-traffic and high-dust zones.Mechanical ability to run equipment and use small hand tools.Quickly adjusts to schedule changes, special cleaning projects, or emergencies.Ability to be organized, multitask and keep up in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication with other team members and production personnel.Able to read and write.Maintains a positive attitude, takes pride in work, and strives to meet company cleanliness standards.Repetitive bending, stooping and reaching for extended periods.EXPERIENCEMinimum 1–2 years of custodial, janitorial, or industrial cleaning experience required.Experience maintaining restrooms, locker rooms, and production floors in a plant environment.Experience cleaning in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment strongly preferred.Familiarity with basic maintenance of cleaning machines or tools.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.Ability to operate basic tools and measuring devices (tape measure, scale, etc.).Ability of repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and carrying.Excellent hand-eye coordination.WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed primarily on the manufacturing floor, which may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, high temperatures and chemicals.Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
