Job summary

Meow Wolf in Las Vegas is seeking a Custodian to maintain clean, sanitary conditions in exhibit and common areas. You will perform janitorial duties, using cleaning products and equipment, while upholding safety and professionalism.

We value flexibility, willingness to learn, and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs. English primarily, Spanish helpful; full-time role with opportunities in a creative museum environment.

Responsibilities

Meow Wolf reserves the right to extend this deadline if needed.Under general supervision, the Custodian is responsible for maintaining the clean and sanitary conditions in assigned areas, such as, exhibit, common areas, employee break area, and other locations within the exhibit. The individual will perform janitorial duties adhering to approved department cleaning procedures including specialized sanitizing as needed. As a representative of the department, this individual is expected to present oneself in a manner that reflects professionalism and ensures company standards.How you will do it…Clean restrooms, including toilets, sinks, floors; replenishes paper supplies, soaps, etc.Sweep, mop, vacuum floor surfaces, dust exhibit fixtures, spot clean furniture and carpet.Sanitize and disinfect high touch points throughout the exhibit.Operate vacuums and carpet cleaning equipment/ extractor.Clean and sanitize public and common areas.Clean surfaces inside the art exhibit.Use a variety of cleaning products including bleach and mild chemicals.Keep work carts fully stocked and ready for use.To be successful in this role…Follow written and oral instructions.Ability to interpret directions on cleaning products and equipment.Willingness to take on challenges and responsibility.Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidaysIt would be nice to have…Dual language skills, especially but not limited to English and SpanishA willingness to learnFlexible to changeWillingness to work outside comfort zone to assist guests or fellow team membersPrior experience performing custodial dutiesWork environment & physical demands…This job operates in an office environment as well as a museum/ art exhibit. This role routinely uses cleaning equipment such as mops, vacuums, and other cleaning tools. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slide/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to lift up to 60lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.The employee will comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols.
