The purpose of the work unit is to provide custodial services necessary to ensure clean, safe, sanitary, well maintained buildings to meet University customer needs and to protect the assets of CSU which further enhance the University’s ability to achieve its objectives in instruction, research and public service.
Position Summary
This position exists to assist the Custodian Ill in delivery of custodial services to building occupants by serving in the capacity of a work leader directing and monitoring the work of a crew of up to 15 Custodian l’s.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate in the application materials:
One (1) year of experience providing cleaning services for a commercial custodial employer. Necessary Special Requirements Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license and willing to submit to a background check.

Duty/Responsibility
Operate and maintain buffers, burnishers (battery and cord operated), automatic floor scrubbers, carpet extractors and backpack vacuums. Evaluate condition of floor coverings to determine appropriate procedures to be used in their care and maintenance. Perform specialized floor maintenance including strip and refinish, scrub and re-coat, and burnishing operations on hard surface floors and stain removal and extraction operations on carpeted floors. Perform routine custodial tasks including sanitizing of restrooms, removing trash and recyclables in all areas of buildings, dusting, window and entry glass cleaning and vacuuming and mopping of floors in classrooms, laboratories, offices and common areas.

As a lead worker, assigns tasks and monitors the work of a custodial crew of up to 15 Custodian l’s. Assists Custodian Ill with monitoring work processes, tracking employee attendance and timekeeping monitoring equipment utilization and maintenance, ordering and stocking consumable supplies and providing input on individual employee performance for evaluation purposes.
