Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 6:30 pm to 11:30 pm, with some weekends.

Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 7 with a minimum hourly rate of $15.43. The actual rate will be commensurate with education and experience, aligned with the college’s compensation philosophy and current collective bargaining agreement, if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this role performs routine custodial duties and setups, under immediate supervision from the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • One year of custodial experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, data sheets, and manuals.
Essential Duties:
  1. Perform custodial tasks across campus, including sweeping, mopping, waxing floors, maintaining restrooms, trash removal, carpet vacuuming, and window cleaning.
  2. Operate custodial equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, shampooers, and snow blowers.
  3. Clean light fixtures and lenses as needed.
  4. Assist grounds with snow removal and exterior waste disposal.
  5. Support facility events with custodial coverage.
  6. Participate in cleaning and moving projects during renovations or new constructions.
  7. Handle biohazard waste safely and properly.
  8. Lock and unlock buildings and classrooms according to the schedule.
  9. Maintain required training, licensure, or certifications.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy laws.
  11. Show sensitivity and respect for diverse populations.
  12. Support colleagues during staffing shortages or increased workloads.
  13. Follow attendance and punctuality guidelines.
Other Duties:
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Work flexible hours, including days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Physical Demands:

Medium exertion (up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 30 lbs. frequently, 10 lbs. constantly).

Visual Acuity:

General observations.

Work Environment:

Moderate noise levels.

Environmental Conditions:

Office or administrative settings, outdoor weather, wet or humid conditions, extreme cold or heat, vibrations, hazards, fumes, airborne particles, and close quarters.
