Watertown Public Schools seeks a dependable Custodian for the Gym/Library area at John Trumbull Primary School. The role reports to the Director of Facilities and requires maintaining cleaning schedules, light maintenance, and trash/snow removal as part of daily operations.

The position emphasizes custodial experience, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and comfort with motorized cleaning equipment to keep school facilities safe and pristine.

Formación

• 1–3 years custodial or general maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to operate basic motorized cleaning equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain cleaning schedules in assigned areas (gym/library).
• Provide light maintenance and repair in the scheduled area.
• Perform trash collection and snow removal as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) to three (3) years experience in custodial, general maintenance work and the knowledge of cleaning equipment, cleaning chemicals and tools used in such work

Essential Skills, Knowledge Performance Abilities

• Requires full range of body motion, including reaching, stooping, kneeling, climbing and walking
• Must be able to lift/carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Requires standing for extended periods of time
• Ability to operate motorized equipment
• Responsible for the cleaning schedule assigned.
• Provide light maintenance and repair services in their scheduled area
• Provide trash collection and snow removal

Additional Duties

Perform all other duties that may be assigned by the Facilities Manager, Group Leader and/or the Building Administrator
