5280 High School is seeking a dependable janitor to maintain cleanliness and safety across our facilities. This role supports a hygienic, organized, welcoming environment for employees, students, and visitors.

The ideal candidate has janitorial or custodial experience and is able to work independently, with strong attention to detail and reliability in a dynamic school setting in Denver, Colorado. 4 hours per day, 20–25 hours per week, 199 days/year.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Versatile to the varying demands of 5280 Recovery High School.
• Able to interact with students, staff, and community.
• Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred; commercial/industrial cleaning is a plus.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and supplies used in commercial or industrial settings.
• Able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety.
• Excellent time management and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal across all areas of the facility.
• Maintain floors through mopping, vacuuming, etc.
• Clean restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to ensure hygiene standards are met.
• Conduct industrial cleaning as needed, including equipment sanitation and high dusting.
• Assist with custodial duties such as window washing and light maintenance tasks.
• Support facilities maintenance activities including minor repairs or reporting issues for further action.
• Ensure cleaning supplies are stocked and properly stored.
• Follow safety protocols during all cleaning procedures to prevent accidents or hazards.

Prior janitorial, custodial, or facilities maintenance experience is highly valued. Duties

• Perform general cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal across all areas of the facility
• Maintain floors through mopping, vacuuming, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
• Must be versatile to the varying demands of the needs with 5280 Recovery High School
• Must be able to deal with students, employees, and citizens of the community in a friendly and tactful manner
• Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles preferred; experience in commercial or industrial cleaning is a plus
• Knowledge of floor care techniques preferred
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and supplies used in residential, commercial, or industrial settings
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety standards
• Excellent time management skills to complete assigned duties efficiently
• Ability to work independently
