Applegreen (US) Welcome Centers is seeking a Custodian to maintain clean, safe and inviting plazas for travelers across our Northeast and Midwest locations. You will perform a variety of cleaning tasks, ensuring restrooms, dining areas and common spaces are well-kept and presentable throughout the shift.

The role emphasizes dependable attendance, physical stamina for long periods of standing and walking, and the ability to work flexible days, nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with the public in a friendly, energetic manner.
• Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning duties across the plaza to ensure a hygienic, welcoming environment for travelers.
• Uses cleaning chemicals, tools and equipment as needed.
• Cleans restrooms, walls, windows and surfaces; maintains lobby and dining areas.
• Transfers supplies between storage and work areas; loads/unloads supplies as required.
• Follows all security, sanitation and safety procedures.

What You’ll Do

As a Custodian, you will be responsible for completing a variety of cleaning duties throughout the plaza to ensure our customers (Travelers) have a pleasant, hygienic experience in our facility.

• Utilizes the appropriate cleaning chemicals, tools and equipment to complete tasks.
• Cleans toilets, walls, windows, worktables, refrigerators, and other equipment as necessary using appropriate equipment, tools and supplies.
• Removes trash and garbage to designated areas.
• Thoroughly sweeps, mops, scrubs, and buffs floors.
• Maintain a clean and organized lobby and dining area.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or hand truck
• Loads and unloads supply trucks.
• Follows all security, sanitation, and safety procedures established by the Company.
• Frequently immerse hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions.
• Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.

Requirements

• Able to stand and walk for an extended period of time.
• Frequently bend, twist, lift and carry at least 40 pounds.
• Available to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation.
