Job summary

SMS Clean is seeking a Custodian Floater for the 2nd shift (3pm - 11pm) to support Greater Clark County Public Schools in Jeffersonville and Charlestown, IN. The position offers a $19.00 per hour wage plus benefits, free uniforms, and 10 paid holidays.

The role requires cleaning and maintaining facilities across multiple campuses, with travel between schools in Clark County. There is no supervisory responsibility and physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: No prior experience or training.
• Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Sweeps, scrubs, finishes, and polishes floor.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Polishes metalwork.
• Cleans walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Cleans windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.

Job Description

Job Title: Custodian Floater, 2nd Shift 3pm - 11pm, Full-Time

Location: Greater Clark County Public Schools in Jeffersonville and Charlestown IN, mainly schools in south county.

Summary: Keeps premises of commercial, retail, airport, hospitality, healthcare, convention centers/arenas or other institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties. Will float/travel to schools in the Clark County Indiana School District, primarily Jeffersonville and Charlestown.

Requirements

Language Ability:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Math Ability:Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
