Job summary

Prior Lake - Savage Area Schools is seeking a Custodian - Float to begin ASAP. This position is 8 hours per day, 260 days per year, with pay in the $47,421–$49,330 range plus benefits.

You will report to the Lead Custodian and maintain facilities for safety and educational use. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, valid MN driver’s license, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and the ability to travel between district buildings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as floating custodian, reporting daily to assigned facilities.
• Keep buildings, sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat, clean, and safe.
• Follow district procedures to clean and maintain floors, walls, ceilings, fixtures, and furniture.
• Move furniture and equipment as directed by the supervisor.
• Ensure building security measures are followed and windows/doors are secured.
• Submit and complete online work requests timely.
• Comply with health and safety codes including OSHA standards.
• Promptly report safety concerns to the Lead Custodian.
• Complete tasks in a timely and professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO: Lead Custodian
JOB GOALS: To maintain the physical school facility in a condition of operating excellence, operating efficiency, cleanliness, and safety so that full educational use of the facility may be made at all times.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serves as a floating custodian, reporting daily to assigned district facilities or school buildings based on operational and coverage needs.
• Keeps the building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat, clean, and safe.
• Follows district procedures to make sure that floors, walls, ceilings, fixtures, furniture, and equipment are cleaned and maintained per district standards.
• Moves furniture and/or equipment within building(s) for various activities and as directed by the supervisor.
• Ensures that all appropriate measures for building security are followed and appropriate measures are used to make sure windows and doors are appropriately secured.
• Submits and completes online work requests in a complete and timely manner.
• Complies with health and safety codes, to include Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards to ensure safe and healthy working conditions.
• Promptly report all safety concerns to the Lead Custodian.
• Completes assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
