Job summary

Prestige Maintenance USA is seeking a Custodian to perform custodial tasks across assigned sites in Missouri. You will operate floor machines, clean restrooms, offices, and common areas, and ensure sanitation and safety compliance.

The role includes night/early morning/weekend hours, adherence to policies, and teamwork with the crew. Physical stamina is required, with routine lifting and standing throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in custodial, janitorial, or cleaning services.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and safety rules.
• Ability to read product labels and follow instructions.

Job description

Job Purpose

The Custodian performs assigned custodial tasks at the designated location, including general cleaning of restrooms, offices, cafeterias, sales floors, and other assigned areas. Duties involve buffing, scrubbing, and operating equipment such as scrubbers, extractors, and buffers.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all general tasks directed by the Lead Custodian or Crew Lead Supervisor
• Operate floor machines for buffing, stripping, waxing, vacuuming, and carpet cleaning safely and according to schedule
• Perform all tasks in line with safety guidelines, company policies, and management directions
• Adhere to company policies on safety, customer service, attire, and work hours
• Complete assignments according to the company schedule and customer expectations
• Wear the required uniform at all worksites
• Execute janitorial tasks based on the defined scope of work and customer requests, including:
  • Empty wastebaskets and replace liners
  • Dust and clean tops of office furniture, desks, and tables
  • Vacuum all carpeting
  • Spot‑clean soiled areas as needed
  • Clean and sanitize toilets, basins, and urinals
  • Clean counters, mirrors, and fixtures
  • Sweep and damp‑mop floors with disinfectant
  • Spot‑clean walls, partitions, and doors
  • Re‑fill restroom dispensers
  • Wipe and clean table tops and chairs
  • Wipe and clean vending machines and appliances
  • Clean sinks and damp‑mop tile floors
• Work nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Follow oral and written instructions diligently
• Collaborate effectively with team members and work independently when necessary
• Attend periodic training and safety meetings

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1–2 years of experience in custodial, janitorial, or cleaning services
• Basic knowledge of custodial duties and janitorial responsibilities
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment (vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, applying finishes)
• Experience in cleaning and sanitizing washrooms
• Ability to read, understand, and follow units of measure on product labels
• Demonstrated safety awareness and compliance with safety rules
• Good personal appearance and hygiene within company guidelines
• Ability to maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition
• Strong communication skills in English

Physical Requirements

• Capable of lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing heavy objects up to 50 pounds
• Perform repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, standing, and crouching frequently
• Operate small power tools as needed
• Stand and walk for extended periods, including climbing/descending stairwells and ladders
• Work independently and in stressful environments
• Maintain regular, consistent attendance
• Travel locally by personal vehicle approximately 10% of the time
• Possibly enter customer facilities requiring background screening

Additional Skills
