Job summary

Goodwill Omaha is seeking a reliable custodian responsible for cleaning assigned areas under federal contract, and for transporting employees to government buildings both on and off base. The role includes daily cleaning, floor care, restroom sanitation, trash removal, and safe operation of cleaning equipment.

The candidate must maintain a valid driver’s license, follow DOT guidelines, and uphold Goodwill policies.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Must maintain valid driver’s license and be insurable.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic custodial duties in a timely, safe and professional manner.
• Vacuum, dust mop, sweep, and wet mop floors.
• Clean and disinfect bathroom fixtures and supply with paper and soap products.
• Empty trash in assigned areas. Secure liners to contract specifications.
• Dust and clean walls, windows, woodwork and above floor surfaces.
• Dust, clean and polish furniture.
• Clean elevators and stairwells.
• Observe proper safety precautions in use of equipment and supplies.
• Work with all cleaning chemicals in a safe manner.
• Meet or exceed the attendance expectations for this position.
• Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees, customers and participants.
• Drive the Goodwill vehicles to and from designated locations in a timely fashion.
• Ensure Goodwill vehicles are kept clean and safe at all times.
• Drive with courtesy to others and positively represent Goodwill to the public.
• Comply with all Department of Transportation guidelines and Goodwill policies & procedures.
• Other duties as assigned or required to fulfill the contract
