Job summary

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Environmental Services Department at Oregon State Hospital is recruiting Custodians in Salem. Responsibilities include cleaning, disinfecting, waste handling, and maintaining facilities to support a clean, healthy environment for patients and staff.

Position offers a 10% pay differential above base rate with comprehensive benefits and on-site work in Salem, Oregon.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum 6 months of custodial experience including operation of required equipment.
• Ability to push/pull heavy custodial equipment and lift up to 50 pounds; stand/walk for 90% of shift.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect all substances, spills and accidents.
• Pick-up and deliver bio-hazard waste and sharps to designated secure storage area.
• Disinfect patient wards during infectious disease outbreaks.
• Sweep, dust, mop, and buff hard surfaces.
• Vacuum and spot clean carpets and remove trash.
• Scrub, rinse and refinish floors; clean carpets and upholstered furniture.
• Clean and maintain custodial equipment.
• Prep floors and walls for remodel/renovation projects.
