Job summary

Willoughby-Eastlake City School District is seeking a Class II Custodian for the 2:30pm - 11:00pm shift (2nd). The position entails general cleaning of school facilities, minor maintenance, and upkeep of floors and lavatories.

Duties include snow removal as needed and responding to emergencies. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to operate cleaning equipment such as buffers and vacuums. Internal applications will be accepted through November 9, 2026.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general cleaning procedures including dust and damp mopping, wall cleaning, carpet shampooing and univent filter cleaning.
• Ability to use cleaning and maintenance tools and to perform routine care for equipment.

12 months /8 hours per day/5 days a week

Hourly Rate of Pay: $22.15 - $26.21

Description

This person will be responsible for general cleaning of building facilities, minor maintenance, repairs, upkeep of floors and lavatories and snow removals as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of general cleaning procedures, e.g., dust mopping, damp mopping, wall cleaning, carpet shampooing, univent filter cleaning. Ability to use tools, including rotos, high-speed buffers, wet/dry vacuums, upright vacuums, power mowers/trimmers, shovels, etc. Ability to lift objects in unloading trucks and moving furniture and school equipment; to perform minor repairs and maintenance and provide routine care for equipment used in a school; to recognize cleaning/maintenance or safety problems and correct.
