Orono Public Schools seeks a full-time custodian for the Orono Activities Center and High School. The position is an 8 hour/day role focused on routine and project cleaning, ground maintenance, and setup/takedown for school activities.

Strong attention to detail and reliability are required, with physical ability to perform duties in various conditions. We offer extensive benefits including health coverage, retirement through PERA, and uniforms.

Job Summary:

• This is an 8 hour/day position.
• Perform ground maintenance routine and project cleaning of assigned areas.
• Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned or as needed.

Qualifications:

• Focus on details and commitment to doing a good job required.
• Experience cleaning in a commercial setting preferred.
• Ability to get along with district employees and be courteous and helpful with students and general public.
• Ability to stand and/or walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat, and/or climb stairs.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work in a variety of conditions and environments (e.g. dusty, wet, cold, hot, high humidity, noisy, indoors, outdoors, at heights, and in small spaces).

Bargaining Group and Level: Custodians/Level 2

COMPENSATION

Hourly Wage: $20.80-$23.11

INSURANCE

Single Health: 90% Covered by District

Employee + 1 Health: 85% Covered by District

Family Health: 77% Covered by District

Dental: Partial Coverage by District

Life insurance equal to annual wages: 100% Covered by District

LTD insurance: 100% Covered by District
