Job summary

Performance Academies in Cincinnati is seeking a dedicated Custodian for the Cincinnati Performance Academy campus to maintain a clean, safe school environment and support daily operations. You will perform cleaning, floor care, minor repairs, and equipment maintenance while following safety procedures.

The role requires reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently, with strong teamwork and communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of required state and federal background checks.
• Valid Ohio driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and empty trash throughout the building.
• Perform floor care, including buffing, waxing, and carpet maintenance.
• Report maintenance issues and complete minor building repairs as needed.
• Maintain custodial equipment and ensure supplies are stocked.

Custodian – Cincinnati Performance Academy

Facility Maintenance

• Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and empty trash throughout the building.
• Perform floor care, including buffing, waxing, and carpet maintenance.
• Complete minor building repairs and report maintenance issues as needed.
• Maintain custodial equipment and ensure adequate cleaning supplies are available.

Safety & Operations

• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly school environment.
• Follow established safety procedures and complete required safety training.
• Operate custodial equipment safely and efficiently.
• Support school operations by responding to custodial and facility needs as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

Professional Responsibilities

• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Work independently while managing daily cleaning priorities.
• Maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and visitors.
• Follow oral and written instructions and contribute to a positive team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
