Kids for the Future is seeking a Custodian/Janitor to join our cleaning team at a secured facility in St. Louis, MO. The role requires at least six months of janitorial experience and familiarity with cleaning products, techniques, and equipment.

Pay is $21.18 per hour, with shifts from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM and potential weekend availability. Applicants must be able to pass Homeland Security clearance and work in a physically demanding environment with strict security requirements.

This is not a standard cleaning position. We are seeking hardworking, dependable, motivated individuals who understand that this role involves physically demanding work, strict security requirements, and flexible scheduling. Candidates must be prepared to perform extensive cleaning duties and work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations.

Applicants must be available to work any shift as needed between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM, including weekends and holidays. Limited availability may disqualify applicants from consideration.

Homeland Security Clearance Required

This position is located at a secured facility. All candidates must be able to successfully pass and maintain Homeland Security clearance as a condition of employment. Due to the sensitive nature of the worksite, security requirements are strictly enforced.

Position Summary

We are looking for a hardworking, motivated, enthusiastic, and dependable Custodian/Janitor to join our cleaning team. While training will be provided to the right candidate, applicants should have at least six (6) months of janitorial experience and be familiar with basic cleaning products, techniques, and equipment.

• Collect and empty trash containers
• Dust walls, furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Clean and restock restrooms
• Mop, sweep, scrub, and vacuum floors
• Clean and polish fixtures and furniture
• Perform routine maintenance activities
• Follow established cleaning and safety procedures
• Operate cleaning equipment and machinery safely
• Use chemical cleaners properly to prevent damage to surfaces
• Report maintenance and repair needs to supervisors
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding position requiring employees to:

• Stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift
• Perform repetitive motions for extended periods
• Lift and carry at least 25 pounds
• Climb ladders and work at various heights when necessary
• Work with cleaning equipment, floor machines, vacuums, and cleaning chemicals
• Perform heavy cleaning tasks on a daily basis

Qualifications

• Minimum six (6) months of janitorial or commercial cleaning experience preferred
• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
• Experience using cleaning equipment, floor buffers, vacuums, and cleaning solutions
• Experience handling and using cleaning chemicals safely
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices and occupational hazards
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Ability to pass Homeland Security clearance requirements
