Job Description

The following outlines the responsibilities, requirements, and benefits for this custodial position at Fluor.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Vacuuming
• Mopping, dust mopping, sweeping, and scrubbing floors
• Emptying waste containers
• Low and high cleaning
• Delivering collected refuse to the loading dock
• Performing restroom cleaning and checks
• Cleaning water fountains
• Cleaning fitness centers, showers, and locker rooms
• Cleaning freight and passenger elevators
• Cleaning and polishing furniture and fixtures
• Cleaning windows, glass partitions, and mirrors at prescribed heights
• Dusting furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
• Shampooing carpets
• Stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing floors
• Following procedures for the use of chemical cleaners
• Policing grounds and emptying waste containers
• Assisting in special event setups
• Monitoring the building for maintenance, safety, and security issues and reporting violations to the supervisor or management
• Maintaining custodial equipment in a clean, safe, operable condition
• Reporting shortages of supplies and equipment failures to the supervisor or management
• Performing other related work as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

• Combination of education and directly related experience equal to one (1) year*
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences
• Job‑related technical knowledge necessary to complete the tasks
• Attention to detail and capability to work in a time‑conscious and time‑effective manner*

Other Job Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Valid driver’s license
• Proven experience as custodian, janitor, or in a similar role
• Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
• Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices
• Strong attention to detail and conscientiousness
• Very good physical condition and strength
• High school diploma is preferred but not required
