Job summary

The Salvation Army in Kerrville, TX is seeking a Facilities Maintenance/Housekeeping team member for the KROC facility. You will perform general cleaning, housekeeping, and custodial duties to keep the building neat, safe, and welcoming for staff and visitors.

Requires the ability to perform physical tasks, walk/stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work as part of a team. Six months of housekeeping experience preferred; no formal education required. Training provided.

Qualifications

• No formal education is required, but six months of housekeeping experience is preferred.
• Equivalent training/experience may be considered to meet knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and housekeeping of the KROC facility: sweeping, vacuuming, mopping office areas, toilets, locker rooms and kitchen areas.
• Emptying trash daily and collecting trash from grounds; cleaning trash cans.
• Shampooing and cleaning carpets; stripping and waxing floors weekly.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

We are looking for another team player who will take pride in keeping the KROC looking like new!

No formal education is needed, but six months experience performing general housekeeping duties

or

any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
• Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform the needed janitorial work.
• Duties are performed standing and require squatting, climbing, bending and walking. Any of the preceding duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting.
• Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) frequently.
