Job summary

Hamilton Local Schools is seeking a Custodian for Hamilton Township High School in Columbus, Ohio. The position runs 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on a 260-day contract, eight hours per day, with a start date of October 21, 2026. Base pay starts at $21.99 per hour.

Reporting to the Building Principal, this full-time role requires reading safety rules, basic math, ability to work with cleaning chemicals, and strong teamwork with students, staff, and the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass Ohio BCI & FBI background checks.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Math skills: add/subtract two-digit numbers; multiply/divide by 10/100.
• Ability to follow written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
• Strong ability to establish and maintain relationships with students, staff and community.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals usage and storage.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.
• Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
• An understanding of cleaning chemicals usage and storage is needed.
