LSUHealth New Orleans Division of Property and Facilities is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Custodian 1 or 2. The hours of operation for this position is 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.

This position is in a Career Progression Group. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Custodian 1 or 2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). Please refer to the ‘Job Specifications’ tab located at the top of the LA Careers ‘Current Job Opportunities’ page of the Civil Service website for specific information on salary ranges, minimum qualifications and job concepts for each level.

Starting rate of pay for a Custodian 1 is $10 and Custodian 2 is $10.70 per hour. There is also an additional $1 Longevity pay for hours worked only. Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the applicants’ qualifications.

Duties And Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:

• Cleaning elevated walkways
• Cleaning elevators and stairwells
• Cleans glass windows and doors
• Parking garage, parking lot, sidewalk and curb maintenance
• Follows established procedures precisely to clean and maintain restrooms
• Follows established procedures precisely to perform periodic floor cleaning and maintenance duties
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• This is a Civil Service Position. This position does not require applicants to take a Civil Service test.

• Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.

• Reports needs for minor building and/or equipment repairs to a higher-level custodian.
