Job summary

Chimes DC Brand in Washington, DC is seeking a reliable janitorial staff member for an evening shift from 4:45pm to 9:45pm at the Ronald Reagan Building. The role pays $20.53 per hour and requires adherence to agency policies, contract specifications, and uniform standards.

Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, floors, common areas, spaces, restocking supplies, and following safety procedures. A High School diploma is preferred and six months of custodial experience is suggested;

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all Agency policies and procedures and follow contract specifications.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and washable surfaces in public areas.
• Clean floors, walls, fixtures, and other surfaces per contract specs.
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas, kitchens, and fitness centers.
• Move, arrange, and lift heavy items; attend required meetings and training.

Set Pay Rate: $20.53

Shift: 4:45pm to 9:45pm

Essential Functions:

• Comply with all Agency policies and procedures and follow contract specifications
• Comply with uniform dress code and personal hygiene standards
• Clean all assigned areas in accordance with the contract specifications
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and washable surfaces in public areas
• Descale showers, toilet bowls, and urinals
• Keep restrooms supplied with required paper products and soap
• Perform routine glass and mirror cleaning
• Scrub tile and wash walls
• Vacuum area rugs and carpets; sweep and mop floors
• Pull trash and recycling and place in proper receptacles
• Dust various surfaces, polish furniture and metal, clean glass tabletops
• Clean and disinfect kitchenettes and break rooms
• Clean and disinfect fitness centers, health centers, and child care centers
• Clean walls, partitions, window blinds, and window sills as required by contract
• Clean corners, crevices, moldings, ledges, door jams, metal strips, and overhead surfaces
• Clean elevators, escalators, and stairwells
• Clean and police building exteriors, garages, and janitor closets
• Keep tools and supplies clean and orderly
• Empty and clean any public ashtrays and urns
• Spot clean, service restrooms, and police trash
• Perform or assist with special restoration work, as required
• Move, arrange, and lift heavy items
• Attend work regularly and report on time
• Attend required meetings and in-service training
• Pass and comply with all building and security requirements and procedures

Secondary Functions:

• Assist with inventory
• Clean and maintain equipment
• Strip, refinish, wax, burnish, buff floors, and clean carpets as required by contract
• Maintain floors including porches and steps at entrances
• Assist with special events by setting up and taking down furniture
• Perform other duties and tasks as needed

Physical Abilities Needed to Meet Work Demands:

• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to go up and down stairs
• Ability to reach above the head, bend, kneel, and stoop
• Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. as needed
• Ability to work in dusty spaces or adverse weather conditions
• Ability to see details on the floor, above the head, or on surfaces

This position is designated as essential. This means that when the facility is faced with an institutional emergency, employees in this position may be required to remain at their work location or to report to work to protect, recover, and continue operations at the facility.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
