Job summary

Ascent Aviation Services is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain clean, safe spaces across our Tucson facilities. The role covers floors, restrooms, and common areas with attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.

We operate 24/7 with shifts across days, evenings, weekends, and 12-hour schedules. Flexibility for overtime and holidays may be required to support operations.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Driver’s License.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of custodial experience preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms and other work areas.
• Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using cleaning equipment.
• Dusts furniture and equipment; polishes metal fixtures.
• Washes walls, ceilings and woodwork; cleans windows and sills.
• Transports trash and cleans waste disposal areas.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies and reports equipment issues.
• Assist other Tenant Services areas when required.

As a 24/7 operation, we have openings across all shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and 12-hour schedules. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work any shift based on operational needs. Overtime—both scheduled and unscheduled, including holidays—may also be required.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, stairways, and other work areas.
• Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using brooms, mops, and powdered scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
• Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal areas.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Reports malfunctioning equipment to Custodian Supervisor.
• Assists other Tenant Services areas when required.
• Ensures that all work performed is done in a safe manner. Directs activities to protect employees from harm and maintain safe working conditions.
• Occasionally may answer inquires and assist guests.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to do so with a wide variety of people.
• Working knowledge of cleaning techniques and standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, and read, write, and understand the English language.
• Ability to operate equipment related to job duties.
• Ability to work with little to no supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Valid Driver’s License required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience in custodial services preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
• Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching above shoulder level.
• Requires occasional sitting, climbing, crouching, and kneeling.
• Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 75 pounds unassisted.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

• Brooms, mops, powered floor machines, vacuum cleaners, forklifts, and man-lift at heights of up to 35 ft.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Hangars, office buildings, and other indoor areas throughout the facility.
• Potential Hazards : Exposure to materials identified on Material Safety Data Sheets, and carrying objects up and down stairs.

OTHER DUTIES:

• May be required to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate.
• Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of department management.
