Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Custodian in Tennessee to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. The shift is Monday–Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm with a pay rate of $15–$16 per hour. SBM offers comprehensive benefits and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred.
• May require valid driver's license and forklift certification.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus; strong reading and writing skills.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties and daily schedule tasks.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Handle Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collection, classification, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas; report incidents and hazards.
• Work in a team and follow supervisor directions.

Title: Custodian

Job Overview The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

• To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment

Education and/ or Experience

No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• May be required to have a valid driver's license.
• Completed all safety and task training certification.
• May be required to be forklift certified.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bilingual a plus
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
