Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across assigned facilities. The role involves janitorial duties, following a daily schedule, and operating cleaning equipment while adhering to safety guidelines.

The position may require driving to different sites and performing tasks in a team environment. A valid driver’s license may be required based on business needs; training may be provided for safety certifications.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bilingual a plus for effective communication with colleagues and customers.
• Must be able to read and interpret instructions, procedures, and manuals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed in daily tasks.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety handling of chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties across assigned areas.
• Follow daily schedule and complete all listed duties.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.

Custodian

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• The ability to drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment

Qualification

• Education and/ or Experience: No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• A valid driver's license may be required for this position based on business needs. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
• Completed all safety and task training certification.
• May be required to be forklift certified.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bilingual a plus
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

$14.00- $15.00 per hour
