Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across all assigned areas in a fast-paced facility.

You will perform daily duties, operate cleaning equipment, handle hazardous waste tasks, support the shift lead, and work with teammates to meet safety standards. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with starting pay of $16 per hour, and SBM benefits.

Qualifications

• No formal education required; 3–6 months training or experience preferred.
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• Completed all safety and task training certification.
• May require forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Perform hazardous waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling and packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Perform janitorial duties.
• Maintain daily upkeep of the assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems and environmental concerns

• No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• Completed all safety and task training certification.
• May require forklift certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bilingual, a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with the team.
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The role requires frequent sitting and talking or listening. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.

Compensation & Shift

Monday–Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, $16 per hour.
