CUSTODIAN

West Fork Community School District

West Fork Community School District is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented individual to join our Buildings & Grounds staff as a Custodian.

Our custodians play an important role in creating a clean, safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for our students, staff, and community. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, works well with others, and understands the importance of being a positive presence in a school setting.

Position Responsibilities

The custodian will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of school facilities. Duties may include:

• Daily cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, common areas, and other assigned spaces.
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and other routine cleaning duties.
• Emptying trash and recycling containers.
• Cleaning and maintaining restrooms and replenishing supplies.
• Assisting with setup and cleanup for athletic events, activities, meetings, and other school functions.
• Monitoring assigned areas and reporting maintenance, safety, or repair concerns.
• Performing minor maintenance and custodial repairs as appropriate.
• Operating and maintaining custodial equipment safely.
• Assisting with snow removal, grounds maintenance, and other seasonal duties as needed.
• Following established safety, security, and cleaning procedures.
• Working cooperatively with other custodians, administrators, teachers, students, and community members.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Buildings & Grounds Director or administration.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial, maintenance, or related experience is preferred but not required.
