SBM Management Services Puerto Rico, LLC is seeking a Custodian to perform janitorial duties, operate cleaning equipment, and maintain safe, clean spaces on the second shift. The role requires following schedules, adhering to safety rules, and coordinating with supervisors and team members.

No specific education is required; 3–6 months of training or experience is preferred. A valid driver’s license and forklift certification may be required. Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Title: Custodian Job Description: Job Overview

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment

Qualification

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/ or Experience: No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bilingual a plus Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents Strong verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
