Job summary

Chart, Inc. in New Prague, MN is seeking a Custodian for the day shift (Mon-Fri, 5:45am-2:15pm). The role focuses on cleaning floors, bathrooms, lunchrooms, and conference rooms, with attention to safety and quality procedures.

You will handle trash, light gardening, and general housekeeping tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have basic communication skills and are able to stand and walk for long periods; prior experience with cleaning equipment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Able to tolerate extended periods of walking and standing.
• Basic written and verbal communication.
• Previous experience operating commercial cleaning equipment, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness of floors including mopping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming and baseboards.
• Responsible for trash pickup and disposal.
• Maintains cleanliness of bathrooms, including toilets, sinks and replenishing supplies.
• Keeps lunchroom neat and orderly; coffee area stocked and tables wiped down.
• Light gardening such as watering plants and weeding.
• Maintains cleanliness of conference rooms and performs light dusting.
• Adheres to established safety and quality procedures.
• Maintains a clean work area and follows general housekeeping standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Chart’s New Prague, MN location is currently seeking candidates interested in our Custodian position on our day shift. Hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 5:45am - 2:15pm.

What Will You Do?

• Maintains cleanliness of floors which includes mopping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming and baseboards
• Responsible for trash pickup and disposal
• Maintains cleanliness of bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, countertops and replenishing paper towels and tissue paper
• Keeps lunchroom neat and orderly: coffee dispensers and coffee supply area filled, cups and napkins installed in dispensers, tables/sinks/countertops wiped down
• Light gardening which may include watering of plants, weeds pulled, etc.
• Maintains cleanliness of conference rooms and light dusting
• Understands and adheres to established safety and quality procedures
• Maintains a clean work area and practices general housekeeping standards
• Performs other duties as assigned

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. and occasionally heavier (50-60 lbs.) with assistance
• Frequent standing, stooping, bending, twisting, walking and occasional crawling
• Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of materials
• Occasional sitting, climbing and working at elevated positions
• Exposure to metal cutting, welding odors, welding flash and incidental acceptable limits of x-ray radiation
• Possible exposure to chemical odors and temperature extremes
• Exposure to overhead objects and occasional flying debris
• Required use of safety glasses with side shields, ANSI approved steel-toed safety shoes, hearing protection and hard hat
