Manitou Group is seeking a Custodian for an onsite role in Madison, South Dakota. The position involves janitorial duties across the facility, including cleaning floors, restrooms, and common areas, while maintaining a safe work environment and following safety procedures.

Overtime may be required. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and use cleaning equipment such as vacuums and floor buffers.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Custodian position will safely perform Janitorial duties and/or simple maintenance operations throughout the entirety of the Manitou facility. Such operations could include work both indoors and outdoors as needed.

Shift Available: Monday-Thursday 5a – 3:30p

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a safe work environment

Work without close supervision.

Keeps buildings and property in clean and orderly condition.

Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuum floors.

Gathers and empties trash.

Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.

Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.

Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers..

Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.

Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.

Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.

Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.

Work with coworkers in a polite and courteous manner, providing cross training as needed.

Able to work overtime as required.

Able to lift up to 50 lbs. independently.

Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.

Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours

Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time.

Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions

Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules.

Ability to practice good communication skills.

Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights as needed.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED.

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS:

Ability to work with others well and also with outside vendors / suppliers.

What does MANITOU Group offer?

• Base Pay Range between $20.00 – $25.00 per hour plus a potential quarterly bonus based on performance metrics
