Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Custodian in Long Beach, CA to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across assigned areas. Responsibilities include janitorial tasks, operating cleaning equipment, and handling hazardous waste in accordance with safety policies.

The role requires the ability to read instructions, strong verbal and written communication, and teamwork. Some roles may require forklift certification and a valid driver’s license; training is provided.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license. Completed all safety and task training certification.
• May be required to be forklift certified.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties.
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
