SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across assigned areas. The role involves following a daily schedule, safely handling hazardous waste tasks, operating cleaning equipment, and cooperating with team members to ensure service excellence.

The position emphasizes safety, professional communication, and adherence to company procedures while delivering reliable facility management services to clients.

Qualifications

• No formal education requirement; 3–6 months training or equivalent experience preferred.
• Certificates/Licenses: Valid driver’s license may be required; forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties and maintain assigned areas.
• Follow daily cleaning schedule and safety protocols.
• Handle hazardous waste duties: collecting, classifying, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, and recycling as needed.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment and report safety incidents.
• Maintain clean work areas and use PPE.
• Communicate professionally with lead, supervisor, and customers.
• Support shift lead on punch-list tasks and during staff shortages.

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. Perform janitorial duties Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste. Operate motorized cleaning equipment Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures Stop at risk behavior of others and self Perform work assignments in a team with other employees Perform repetitive tasks Maintain clean work area Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules Take direction and respond to supervision Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner Fill in during staff shortage Support shift lead in completing punch-list items Use proper personal protective equipment Present a professional appearance and conduct Understand customer service and satisfaction Understand reporting systems, and of the environment

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bilingual a plus Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents Strong verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
