Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Custodian in Kentucky to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across assigned areas. The role emphasizes following safety protocols and daily scheduling to keep facilities tidy and compliant.

Responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment, reporting hazards, and working in a team. Candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks and maintain professionalism on site.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred.
• May require a valid driver’s license and safety/task training certifications; forklift certification may be needed.
• Bilingual is a plus and reading/comprehension of instructions are important.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties as assigned.
• Follow daily schedule and perform routine cleaning tasks.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and maintain cleanliness of assigned areas.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment

Education and/ or Experience: No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bilingual a plus
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
