Job summary

Pacific West Site Services, Inc. is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas. The role requires performing janitorial duties, operating cleaning equipment, and following safety protocols.

You will contribute to a safe, organized facility and support the daily cleaning schedule. Qualifications include high reliability, ability to follow instructions, and basic reading/writing skills.

Qualifications

• No formal education required; 3–6 months of training or experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required; safety and task training certification may be required.
• Bilingual is a plus; strong verbal and written communication skills are valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties and daily tasks as listed on the schedule.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain assigned areas.
• Follow safety rules, policies, and procedures and report hazards to supervision.
• Communicate professionally with lead, supervisor, coworkers, and customers.

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment

Qualification

• Education and/ or Experience: No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver's license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
  • Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
  • Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
