Qualifications

• Maintains rooms according to the building cleaning plan.
• Mops floors to meet area requirements.

• Vacuum carpets and treat stains as needed.
• Removes trash and disposes of it properly.
• Ensures doors/windows are secure and lights are off.
• Disinfects telephones, hardware, and handrails.
• Restocks restroom paper supplies.
• Dusts horizontal surfaces (excluding certain desks).
• Abides by health and safety procedures.
• Follows Lead Custodian or Supervisor instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain each room (restrooms, meeting rooms, classrooms, kitchen, etc.) according to the building cleaning plan.
• Mop all floors to meet the requirements for each designated area.
• Clean all fixtures, mirrors, walls, doors, water fountains, windows, and blinds in the scheduled manner that is expected.
• Vacuum all carpeted areas and remove spots from carpeting as needed.
• Remove all trash from the building and dispose of it in the appropriate dumpsters.
• Ensure all doors and windows are securely locked and the lights turned off.
• Disinfect all telephones, receivers, door hardware, handrails, and public horizontal services in the building.
• Ensure appropriate stock of toilet paper and paper towels in restrooms.
• Dust all horizontal surfaces (excluding teacher and office desks).
• Abide by and practice all health and safety procedures.
• Follow the instructions of the Lead Custodian or Supervisor.
