Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Custodian to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas. The role includes performing janitorial tasks, following the daily schedule, and safely handling hazardous waste in a team setting.

Applicants should be able to meet safety rules, communicate effectively, and present a professional appearance. The position may require driving to various sites and working the Sat-Sun 10:00PM–06:30AM shift with a pay rate of $16.50–$17.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include bilingual ability, reading and interpreting documents, strong verbal and written communication, knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, upkeep of cleaning equipment, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties.
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Handle Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Follow safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Interact professionally with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers.
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct

• The ability to drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.

Education and/ or Experience

No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

A valid driver's license may be required for this position based on business needs. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet company driving eligibility requirements. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bilingual a plus
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
