Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Custodian in Lakeland, FL. The role supports cleanliness and sanitation across assigned areas, with an evening schedule from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

No specific education is required; 3–6 months of training or experience is preferred. A valid driver’s license and safety certifications may be needed, and forklift certification may be required. You will work in a team and present a professional image while maintaining safety and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Handle Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping/receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Follow safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Work in a team with others and maintain a clean work area.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct; understand customer service and reporting systems.

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment
